Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park takes its name from the shallow alkaline lake at its heart, a haven for both plant life and birdlife. The park is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with over 300 recorded species, including cormorants, pelicans, storks, and vast flocks of flamingos that turn the shoreline pink.

Beyond its birdlife, Lake Manyara is famous for its rich wildlife diversity. One of the most unique highlights of Lake Manyara National Park is its population of tree-climbing lions. While lions are typically seen resting on the ground, in Manyara you may spot them lounging on the branches of acacia and mahogany trees.
